LGC received a grant from the James Irvine Foundation in December 2001 to conduct a study that would assist California Main Street (CMS) in evaluating and maximizing its effectiveness as an economic development program. LGC contracted with Eichenfield & Associates to design the evaluation, conduct the study and prepare the results. The reports and brochures are being distributed to state officials, legislators, local communities and the media, and are being used by the state to develop future workplans for CMS.
